ACT 1 | Iago talks with Roderigo about how much he hates Othello because he gave Cassio the lietenancy that he wanted. Iago and Roderigo claim to her father that Desdemona has eloped with Othello.At this news Brabantio organizes an armed band to search out Othello. Iago warns Othello about Brabantio's anger.Cassio arrives with orders for Othello, he is to met with the duke and senators of Venice about a Turkish invasion of the Venetian colony of Cyprus. Brabantio is ready to seize Othello but Othello persuades Brabantio to come with to the duke. TheirBrabantio canpresent his case against Othello. When they arrive the duke insists on evidence to dupport the old man's charge. desdemona enters telling her father and the senators that she has married Othello because she loves him. The duke grants her wish to join Othello to Cyprus. Othello gives Iago duty of conveying Desdmona to Cyprus. Roderigo desperatly wants to win Desdmona's love so he threatens suicide, Iago persuades him to sell land and pursue Desdmona to Cyprus. Iagao begins to plot to himself how he may get back at Othelloand get Cassia's place as lieutenant. ACT 2 The Turksih fleet is destroyed in a storm, while Cassio and then Desdmona,Emilia, and Iago arrive in Cyprus. Othello and desdmona meet happily at cyprus. Iago persuades Roderigo that desdmona is in love with Cassio and that he should help desmiss Cassio from the lieutenancy. Cassio loses his lietenancy in a brawl. Iago tells cassio that he should get desdmona's help in getting reinstated. Iago's next plan is to tell Othello that Desmona supports Cassio because he is her lover. ACT 3 Cassio honors desdmona and Othello by bringing musicians. Iago suggests that Cassio asks Emilia to arrange a meeting with desmona. Othello is warned against becoming jealous of desmona. Othello threatens Iago with death unless he provides proof of desdmona's infidelity. Othello is convinced of the proof given by Iago and vows to kill Desdmona, Iago agrees to kill cassio and Othello appoints Iago to the lieutenancy. Cassio asks bianca to copy the embroidery from desdmona's lost Handkershief. ACT 4 Iago continues to trment Othello with vivid descriptions of Desmona's alleged sexual activity, places Othello where he can only see the conversation with cassio. lodovico arrives from venice with orders that Othello return to Venice and that Cassio be appointed in his place. Othello strikes desdmona and leaves in a jealous rage. This behavior shocks Lodovico. Othello calls desdemona a whore to her face which sends her to Iago for help. Roderigo is outraged by the gifts given to desdmona by Iago and asks for the return of the gifts. Oago counters this threat by telling him that Desdmona will leave for Mauritania with Othello unless he can delay them, and the best way to do that is by killing Cassio. Desdmona and emilia get into a dicussion about marital infidelity. ACT 5 roderigo attacks cassio,who,uninjured stabs Roderigo. Igao wounds Cassio in the lag, hearing this Othello thinks Iago has killed Cassio so he deaparts to murder Desdmona. Iago kills roderigo who is alredy wounded Iahgo acuses Bianca of being a whore and plotting against Cassio. Desdmona is smutherd by Othello. emilia brings Iago,Montano,and gratiano.Iago confess to accusing desdmona,desperately Othello try's to kill Iago but with no success. Iago kills Emilia. Othello realising his error kills himself. Iago is taken away to be tortured and killed.
